Body copy is the main text in a brochure, website, advert or any other form of marketing collateral. It sits ‘alongside’ the headlines, sub-headings, logo and graphics and it’s main purpose is to communicate the benefits and then the features and functionality. Body copy is usually created by a copywriter who will be working to a brief created by the marketing team.
Each communication channel (brochure, advert, website, social media, email etc) will require it’s own style of body copy to convey the same message. What works on an advert will look out of place in a social media post, for example.
